Queen and Adam Lambert\u2019s North America tour is currently in Chicago, with a second night for Halloween taking place this evening.<\/p>\n
Sir Brian May recently took to social media to tease a new addition to the ever-evolving show, which includes AI robots and the voice of Freddie Mercury singing 1984\u2019s Machines (Or Back To Humans).<\/p>\n
The 76-year-old guitarist captioned the video of the show\u2019s new opening: \u201cGood Evening Chicago Folks !! Prepare for a feast ! Just wanted to introduce you to these robots guys.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Sir Brian continued: \u201cThey dominate the narrative of our new show \u2026 but I don\u2019t want to say too much, because we like you to figure it out in your own way. But in these days of Artificial Intelligence beginning to dominate our whole lives, these guys personify Robotic Insurgence. And you might notice that this song. MACHINES – or Back to Humans – is the sound track to us as humans reclaiming our control ( of the evening at least !) you might also notice that Freddie has a hand in leading the counter-attack.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome folks have also noticed that Freddie\u2019s voice seems to come \u2018out of nowhere\u2019. That\u2019s because he actually does emerge from behind you. On this tour, for the very first time, we have a \u2018Quad\u2019 PA system – if you turn around you\u2019ll see the speaker banks at the back of the arena.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is something we toyed with in the 1970\u2019s – but the technology wasn\u2019t really up to it. But now it IS !!! I\u2019ll be interested to hear if you guys figure out what ELSE comes out of the back speakers !! So Freddie helps us drive out the machines in the first few minutes of the show. But that\u2019s not the end of the story \u2026 as you\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Sir Brian added: \u201cAnd towards the end of the show we are looking at what we humans are doing ourselves – and wondering if the biosphere of our Blue Planet actually has a future.<\/p>\n
