California, one day before her birthday<\/span> after a long battle with breast cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Somers wrote a number of health and wellness books and she was very public about some of her controversial medical decisions<\/p>\n<p>Somers played the cheerful blonde on the TV show &#8220;Three&#8217;s Company&#8221; until she was fired after demanding equal pay.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"newsletter_signup \">\n<figure class=\"embed embed--type-newsletter-widget embed--float-none embed--size-large embed--type-iframe\" data-ads=\"{\" wordcount=\"\">\n<\/figure>\n<\/aside>\n<p>She went on to star in many other roles and said she made millions with the ThighMaster, a personal fitness device.<\/p>\n<p>Somers was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000.
