Queen Camilla, 76, performed her first engagement in weeks on Tuesday by joining children and care home residents for a “Poetry Together” recital and tea party at Fielding Primary School in Ealing.

The Queen wore massive gold earrings in the shape of a fish, which caught royal fans’ eyes because Camilla’s ears are famously unpierced.

Royal style expert @Remisagoodboy tweeted: “For those asking about Queen Camilla’s earrings today – this particular pair have been in her jewellery collection since at least 2021.

“They appear to be a hammered gold, stylised fish design, believed to be in the style of the jeweller Lalaounis.

“Camilla has long been known for her love of animal-inspired jewellery, including her extensive Lucky Animals brooch collection, from Van Cleef & Arpels.”

Queen Camilla debuted the earrings on October 27, 2021, when she attended the “Shameless! Festival”.

This was a collaboration between Women of the World (WOW) and Birkbeckâs SHaME project at Wellcome Collection.

In her remarks, the Queen delivered a candid dialogue on sexual violence against women and the critical need for society to shift its perspective.

Camilla chose a long black dress and matching black boots for the occasion. Her attire was understated, which let her gold earrings stand out.

Camilla’s earrings had never been seen previously by the public and were partially concealed beneath her blonde hair.

They appeared to be in the form of fish and were made of gold. Jewellery professionals provided Express.co.uk with their expert assessments of the earrings.

Experts from the UK’s leading pawnbroker, H&T, said: “In the case of these earrings, they seem to be of hammered gold, stylised fish design, somewhat in the style of the jeweller Lalaounis.

“Being of just gold and not gem set would suggest they are for daywear. Large drop style earrings are the absolute height of fashion so they are bang on trend.”

H&T also estimated the value of the earrings, saying: “If these earrings are by a designer such as Lalaounis and are made of 18-carat gold, we would expect them to retail around £15,000 to £20,000.”

Greek goldsmith and jeweller Ilias Lalaounis started a jewellery company in the middle of the 20th century.

Jewellery professionals have previously referred to Lalaouins’ gold necklaces, bracelets, and earrings as works of art.

Queen Camilla has worn these earrings on several other occasions, including in 2022 to announce the winner of the Platinum Jubilee Pudding competition with Dame Mary Berry.
