Earlier this year, Villeneuve told <em>Empire<\/em> that he had already \u201cput words on paper\u201d thinking about where he would like to take the <em>Dune <\/em>franchise going forward.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">Legendary has yet to announce any sort of timeline for when production on <em>Dune 3 <\/em>might begin.\u00a0But the studio intends for the movie to debut before its <em>next<\/em> project with Villeneuve \u2014 an adaptation of <em>Nuclear War: A Scenario<\/em>, Annie Jacobsen\u2019s 2024 Pulitzer Prize-nominated nonfiction book about how nuclear war scenarios would likely play out.
