A man has taken to the internet to express his frustration after an \u201centitled\u201d neighbour harassed his parents when they tried to build a fence on their property.<\/p>\n
He took to Reddit and explained he lived in a small countryside village near his parents who have had problems with their neighbour in the past.<\/p>\n
The man wrote: \u201cThis happened today. I’m helping my folks install a fence around the house’s perimeter. The installers came today and began outlining the area with some neon lanyards on rebar posts.<\/p>\n
\u201cA few moments later the neighbor comes out. She points to me and gestures for me to come over to talk while \u2018shooing\u2019 away my father. There have been arguments before.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe begins to tell me that we are encroaching on her property line. I tell her that we are not and are going based on where our driveway ends and we also have a permit from our local village.\u201d<\/p>\n
READ MORE: ‘My neighbour demands I repaint my fence because he hates the ugly colour’<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The neighbour began to get argumentative and accused the man\u2019s parents of building the fence illegally and she kept insisting she owned the land where the fence was being built.<\/p>\n The man wrote: \u201cSometimes you can’t reason with people, but I continued to explain that we are in the right, approved for the work.<\/p>\n \u201c[I also] surprisingly found out from an old property survey that the supposed area we are \u2018encroaching\u2019 on actually belongs to us. I showed her the survey and it flew right over her.\u201d<\/p>\n The neighbour began getting in contact with officials to try and delay the fence being built and ended up getting in touch with the village\u2019s building and work department who had someone come out and inspect the land.<\/p>\n The man wrote: \u201cThe gentleman that came said that we were approved and we continued. He mentioned that he was only there to serve as a \u2018civil court\u2019.<\/p>\n \u201cThe neighbour called the public works department again an hour later and two individuals came this time. She didn’t listen to us or the first inspector, but she seemed to be reasonable with the second.\u201d<\/p>\n DON’T MISS:<\/strong> After not getting her way, the neighbour said she was now planning to install a fence on the driveway\u2019s concrete \u201cout of spite\u201d for the man\u2019s parent building their new garden fence.<\/p>\n According to the man, he replied: \u201cSure, if you get the permit and if the contractor has sound judgement.\u201d<\/p>\n In the comment section, people were bewildered by the neighbour\u2019s behaviour and advised the man to make sure she did not continue to harass his parents.<\/p>\n One user said: \u201cFences!
