She placed it in water when she got home, but it never grew new buds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It eventually just died.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Not using a bug net early enough in the summer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Garden netting can help keep pests away from your plants. Kia said she didn\u2019t bring out the net early enough in the summer, so cabbage moths ate most of her cabbage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cabbage moth came and absolutely destroyed my garden. Next summer I\u2019m using a net,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Choosing a plant that requires something you don\u2019t have<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kia said she really wanted to grow flowers, so she chose ranunculus corms. The only issue \u2013 she doesn\u2019t have an area in her yard that gets prolonged sunlight.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Because the seeds were mainly in the shade, she never saw the flowers bloom.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Planting potatoes too early\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Potatoes should be planted in early spring, like March, April or May.
