A couple of bombings in Pakistan at the election offices of a political party and an independent candidate killed at least 24 people and wounded more than two dozen others on Wednesday, the day before parliamentary elections.<\/p>\n
The first attack happened in Pashin, a district in Baluchistan province, provincial government spokesperson Jan Achakzai said. Officials said at least 14 people were killed in the attack and the wounded, which includes some in critical condition, are being rushed to a nearby hospital.<\/p>\n
Another bombing at the elections office of politician Fazlur Rehman’s Jamiat Ulema Islam party in the Qilla Saifullah town of Baluchistan killed at least 10 people, according to Acahkzai and local authorities.<\/p>\n
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks. Caretaker Interior Minister Gohar Ejaz denounced the bombings.<\/p>\n
