The best motivational song of all time is Kanye West\u2019s \u201cStronger\u201d \u2013 with rock anthem \u201cEye of the Tiger\u201d only securing fourth spot, research has found. An analysis of the 65 most popular motivational playlists, on Spotify and Apple Music, was carried out, to determine which track made the most appearances.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
And \u201cStronger\u201d, which was a UK number one in 2007, came top, after featuring in 14 playlists on the digital music services.<\/p>\n
Second spot went to Eminem\u2019s \u201cTill I Collapse\u201d \u2013 followed by David Guetta and Bebe Rexha\u2019s \u201cI\u2019m Good (Blue)\u201d, and Survivor\u2019s \u201cEye of the Tiger\u201d.<\/p>\n
The deep dive into the most motivational songs was carried out on behalf of 888Poker, after its ambassador, Alexandre Mantovani, revealed what he listens to prior to major tournaments.<\/p>\n
The poker player said: \u201cI always workout before playing, to be my best version and have stamina for long hours of playing. I like listening to rock music and hip-hop, depending on the kind of workout I\u2019m doing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Other popular motivational tracks include \u201cRun\u201d by Snow Patrol, \u201cForever\u201d by Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and Eminem, and \u201cCan\u2019t Hold Us\u201d by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cBeast \u2013 Southpaw Remix\u201d, by Rob Bailey and The Hustle Standard, also features on a number of playlists\u00a0\u2013 as do \u201cRemember the Name\u201d, by Fort Minor (featuring Styles of Beyond), and \u201cNot Afraid\u201d by Eminem.<\/p>\n
The research also found Kanye West’s \u201cGraduation\u201d is the most motivational album, featuring on 23 playlists. This was ahead of \u201cRecharge\u201d, by Fearless Motivation, and \u201cThe Eminem Show\u201d, by Eminem, which came second and third respectively.<\/p>\n
Speaking about the 888Poker research, Dr Michael Bonshor, teacher in music psychology at the University of Sheffield, said: \u201cWe all have individual musical tastes, and personal associations with certain songs or types of music. This can affect whether we find them motivational.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the strongest research findings is that music we choose to listen to, is more motivational than music other people have chosen for us.
