{"id":19914,"date":"2024-01-09T19:03:55","date_gmt":"2024-01-09T13:33:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/farratanews.online\/natwest-announces-new-support-for-farmers-impacted-by-flooding-personal-finance-finance\/"},"modified":"2024-01-09T19:03:55","modified_gmt":"2024-01-09T13:33:55","slug":"natwest-announces-new-support-for-farmers-impacted-by-flooding-personal-finance-finance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/farratanews.online\/natwest-announces-new-support-for-farmers-impacted-by-flooding-personal-finance-finance\/","title":{"rendered":"NatWest announces new support for farmers impacted by flooding \u200c | Personal Finance | Finance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>NatWest has announced increased support for agricultural customers in response to the severe flooding across England and Wales.<\/p>\n<p>NatWest\u2019s agricultural team are offering individual financial solutions to any customers impacted, with support available for those hit by adverse weather conditions both in the &#8220;short, medium and long term&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Ian Burrow, head of agriculture at NatWest Group, said: \u201cWe are here to support our customers in the farming sector through this difficult period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur agricultural managers have in-depth knowledge of the sector, including being able to offer individual financial support, where needed, to help customers navigate the recent flooding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would urge affected customers to get in touch with their local agriculture relationship manager to discuss how we can help.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The range of measures introduced to support NatWest agriculture customers include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Loan repayment holidays<\/li>\n<li>Interest rate reduction<\/li>\n<li>Temporary emergency loans with no fees<\/li>\n<li>Overdraft facilities<\/li>\n<li>Working capital support<\/li>\n<li>Helping with financing strategies via access to specialist bank staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The adverse weather means that farmers may struggle to get onto the land to lift or harvest crops. Forage crops and winter fodder stocks may also be compromised.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Cropping and feeding decisions may have to be changed resulting in additional costs to the business, including any decisions to re-plant.<\/p>\n<p>For crops that are unable to be harvested or additional feed that has to be purchased, businesses will have a bottom-line impact in the short to medium term. Additionally, there may also be additional costs associated with the remediation of land and buildings.<\/p>\n<p>NatWest said today\u2019s announcement builds on the bank\u2019s \u201cstrong commitment\u201d to the agricultural sector.<\/p>\n<p>NatWest Group has previously confirmed an additional \u00a31.25billion lending package for farmers, taking its total lending capacity to the agricultural sector to \u00a36.7billion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>This lending package supports the industry in dealing with a variety of cost pressures and aims to aid farmers in making the transition to more sustainable practices.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Burrows said: \u201cAs always, we are also here to support our customers in the long-term.
