{"id":17597,"date":"2023-12-29T10:20:45","date_gmt":"2023-12-29T04:50:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/farratanews.online\/boeing-urges-inspections-of-737-max-planes-for-possible-loose-bolt\/"},"modified":"2023-12-29T10:20:45","modified_gmt":"2023-12-29T04:50:45","slug":"boeing-urges-inspections-of-737-max-planes-for-possible-loose-bolt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/farratanews.online\/boeing-urges-inspections-of-737-max-planes-for-possible-loose-bolt\/","title":{"rendered":"Boeing urges inspections of 737 Max planes for &#8216;possible loose bolt&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media-cldnry.s-nbcnews.com\/image\/upload\/t_fit_1500w\/rockcms\/2023-12\/231228-boeing-737-max-plane-wm-754p-918f74.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"\">Boeing\u00a0is urging airlines to inspect 737 Max planes to look for a \u201cpossible loose bolt\u201d in the rudder control system, the latest quality issue to affect the manufacturer\u2019s bestselling jetliner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The company recommended the inspections after \u201can international operator discovered a bolt with a missing nut while performing routine maintenance on a mechanism in the rudder-control linkage,\u201d the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement Thursday. \u201cThe company discovered an additional undelivered aircraft with a nut that was not properly tightened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The inspections will take about two hours per plane, and all new 737 Maxes will undergo the check before they\u2019re handed over to customers, Boeing said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThe issue identified on the particular airplane has been remedied,\u201d Boeing said in a statement.\u00a0\u201cOut of an abundance of caution, we are recommending operators inspect their 737 MAX airplanes and inform us of any findings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Shares of Boeing were down more than 1% in afternoon trading.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Alaska Airlines\u00a0plans to start the inspections on Thursday.
