Beyonc\u00e9’s mother has defended the star against “racist” accusations she lightened her skin for the premiere of her movie Renaissance. <\/p>\n

Tina Knowles said she had seen “stupid, ignorant, self-hating racist statements” about Beyonc\u00e9 “lightening her skin” and “wearing platinum hair wanting to be white”.<\/p>\n

The mother-of-two, in a statement posted on Instagram, said she was “sick and tired of people attacking her” after critics took to social media to condemn\u2002Beyonc\u00e9’s premiere look of platinum blonde hair and a silver corseted dress with matching gloves, against a glittery silver backdrop.<\/p>\n

She insisted the movie premiere’s theme was silver, including “silver hair, a silver carpet, and silver attire” and denounced the critics as “bozos”<\/p>\n

She added: “How sad is it that some of her own people continue the stupid narrative with hate and jealousy.”<\/p>\n

Ms Knowles said Beyonc\u00e9 would be “p****^ at me for doing this, but I am fed up” as her lengthy statement was coupled with a photo montage of her daughter and her 2019 hit Brown Skin Girl.<\/p>\n

She also claimed a US outlet had contacted Beyonc\u00e9’s hairstylist for a statement about the allegations, which she said “made my blood boil”. Ms Knowles added: “Every time she does something that she works her a** off for and is\u2002a\u2002statement of her work ethic, talent and resilience. “Here you sad little haters come out the woodwork.”<\/p>\n

Ms Knowles said Beyonc\u00e9 also “helps people whenever she can”, as well as lifting up and promoting “black women and\u2002underdogs at all times”.<\/p>\n
