Gainesville is 60 miles northeast of Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Details of the accident were not immediately known Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cMedina remains in a coma at Northeast Georgia Medical Center,\u201d the school\u2019s statement said. \u201cJeremy and his family are firm believers in Jesus Christ and His redemptive love, and are requesting prayer during this extremely difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The post on X used the hashtags #pray4Jeremy and #OneGainesville.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The Chestatee High School baseball team, which sometimes plays against Gainesville, also expressed support for Medina.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cJeremy is full of fight and grit on the baseball field\u00a0and we pray he continues to fight with the same grit,\u201d the team said in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n<p class=\"endmark\">Medina\u2019s accident comes two months after a 16-year-old high school football player in New Jersey died after being seriously injured during a football game in September.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\n<br \/>[ad_2]\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[ad_1] A Georgia high school senior is in a coma after he was accidentally hit in the head with a baseball bat, officials said.
