Russell Brand being investigated by Thames Valley Police following harassment and stalking claims | Ents & Arts News

Russell Brand is being investigated by a second police force following further allegations.

Thames Valley Police told Sky News that a woman contacted the force two weeks ago with “new information,” and that it was looking into her claims of “harassment and stalking”.

They said the claims date back to 2018.

While the new information is being reviewed by officers, Thames Valley Police said “it would be inappropriate to comment on an ongoing investigation”.

Thames Valley Police is the force in charge of Henley-On-Thames in Oxfordshire where Brand lives. He also owns a pub in the area.

The Metropolitan Police previously confirmed it had received a “number of allegations of sexual offences,” all of them non-recent and said to have occurred in both London and elsewhere in the country.

It follows a joint investigation by The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches.

In it, Brand, 48, was accused of rape, sexual assault and abuse and sexual misconduct by a number of women – claims he denies.

Brand denies claims of sexual abuse

The offences were said to have taken place between 2006 and 2013, when Brand was at the height of his fame.

More women came forward with claims against Brand following the investigation.

The BBC has said it is looking into allegations from a woman who claims Brand exposed himself to her and then laughed about it afterwards on his Radio 2 show.

Brand denies the claims against him, saying his relationships were consensual. He has not been charged with anything.

The fallout from the allegations has caused Brand to suspend his tour and led YouTube to demonetise his content.

It has also reignited a debate about how stars are managed and monitored by the entertainment industry.

Sky News has approached Brand for comment.
