Marks and Spencer’s “beautiful” £79 checked coat is now £40 off, and shoppers are calling it “so elegant”. The Checked Double Breasted Short Coat was originally priced at £79 on M&S’s website.
The Checked Double Breasted Short Coat is currently a hot item on M&S’s website, as it’s price has been reduced from £79 to £38.
The product description says: “Smarten up your look with this timeless checked coat. Regular fit, with a modern short length and double breasted design.
“It’s lined for comfort and has a neat collared neck. Two side pockets keep your small essentials close and a secure button fastening completes the piece.”
The coat comes in sizes six to 24 – but stock is flying off the shelves as people are gushing over the statement piece that should last for a number of years.
The Checked Double Breasted Short Coat has a four-star rating on M&S’s website. One shopper said: “A beautiful coat made to an excellent standard.
“As usual, the process of ordering and the timely delivery were very good. I highly recommend this coat. The price point is worth it.”
One pleased customer wrote: “Beautiful, warm coat. Looks elegant, so pleased with the purchase.”
And Arabelle, another shopper, added: “Exactly what I was looking for! The very helpful shop assistant kindly ordered me one in my size; very pleased with the fit, looks smart, excellent quality good price.”
However some were disappointed with the fabric, with one customer writing: “This jacket looks lovely on. I really loved the design and look but, unfortunately, the fabric is awful. The pilling is dreadful which is such a pity.”
Another wrote: “I loved this coat when it arrived, nice check pattern, great length and cosy as it’s double breasted. Sadly, after a couple of weeks, the fabric bobbled really badly, especially on the sleeves.
“I used a de-fuzz tool which helped. I’m still wearing it but need to de-fuzz it regularly. It’s now looking rather shabby. Very disappointed.”
Yet, another shopper disagreed: “More than happy with this coat. Good fit and I like the material…”
