Bruce Springsteen has cancelled the rest of his tour dates as he continues to recover from peptic ulcer disease.

In a statement posted on social media, Springsteen’s team explained that, following doctor’s advice, The Boss will be using the rest of the year to recover.

“With this in mind, and out of an abundance of caution, all remaining 2023 tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be postponed until 2024,” the statement read.

They also added a personal message from 74-year-old Springsteen, that stated: “Thanks to all my friends and fans for your good wishes, encouragement, and support. I’m on the mend and can’t wait to see you all next year.”

Rescheduled dates for each of the 2023 shows, including those postponed earlier this month, will be announced next week, all taking place at their originally scheduled venues.

Unfortunately it hasn’t been enough, and through the urging of his wife and the doctors, he is now giving himself time to rest up the way he needs.

The cancelation comes amid a string of health issues for the star that have caused shows to be postponed.

Among them, he has had several bouts of Covid, the most recent of which resulted in two shows in August being canceled.

In May, he fell on stage after climbing stairs while performing in Amsterdam, prompting his team to help him get back on his feet.

He’s also been open about his battle with depression, stating in his book Born To Run that his mental health often left him fearing he would ‘turn out more like his father than he thought he might’.
