Amazon has knocked more than £70 off the price of a “perfect” coffee machine with over 4,000 five-star reviews in a new deal. The DeLonghi Nescafe Dolce Gusto Infinissima Pod Capsule Coffee Machine, originally priced at £109.99, is now more than half price at £39.
The deal is also available on Argos, while De’Longhi and Currys are selling it for £39.99. The machine comes in three colour combinations – white and black, red and black, and black and charcoal – and features a 1.2 litre tank, Wales Online reports.
Interestingly, this tank is 400ml larger than the XS model of the machine, which is also on sale for £34 (down from £79.99) on Amazon and Argos. The smaller model uses more energy at 1,600 compared to 1,470 from the bigger one, costing 46p per hour to run compared to 43p per hour for the larger model, according to energy calculator sust-it.
The larger machine can make 40 different types of coffee, both hot and cold, and boasts a 15 bar pump pressure. It uses recyclable Nescafe Dolce Gusto pods, which are available in over 20 blends on Amazon for £21.99 for any flavour four boxes (£5.50 a box), or a three pack (48 capsules) of Flat White for £11.25 (£3.75 a box, or £3.38 with a subscription), while Ocado has dropped the price of a 16-pack from to £3.75 from £5.
The DeLongi Infinissima Coffee Machine has a 4.4 rating of 5,910 reviews, with 4,350 of them five star. One person titled their review ‘Superb!!!” and wrote: “Easy to use. Pleasant to look at. Makes amazing coffee. What’s more to say.”
Another added: “Second Dolce Gusto machine I’ve bought, convenient with a small footprint on the worktop. Most of all makes a great cup of coffee/chocolate or even Horlicks, thank you very much.”
A third said: “This product is so perfect for coffee lovers. Easy to use. Easy to clean. Easy to maintain. Coffee pods are available in different shops. Various choices of coffee and hot chocolate flavors. Overall rating is 11/10.”
However, one shopper wasn’t happy and said: “This unit features a couple of design flaws. 1. The water container is oddly shaped, making it difficult to hold, fill, and reposition on the machine – it was designed with aesthetics in mind rather than pragmatism. 2. After use, the pods are sometimes difficult to extract. This is because the mechanism that punctures the top of the pod sometimes snags preventing the pod caddy from sliding out.”
Elsewhere, the Tassimo Bosch 1500W, 1.3 litre machine’s price has been cut down to just £69 on Amazon and £70 on Argos. It’s really popular, with a high score of 4.7 out of five stars from 2,467 reviews on Amazon.
The DeLonghi Nescafe Dolce Gusto Infinissima Pod Capsule Coffee Machine can be bought on Amazon (£39), Argos (£39), De’Longhi (£39.99) and Currys (£39.99).
